What are the benefits of IPU Academy membership?
As a member of IPU Academy, you can participate in the IPU Academy webinars and attend all live learning courses in the IPU Academy programmes. You also have access to the online learning management system on www.ipuacademy.ie, where you can view and book all the live learning courses in the IPU Academy programmes. IPU Academy will also deliver Continuing Education (CE) in distance learning and eLearning formats. These formats will allow you, as a member of IPU Academy, to engage with CE at a time that is convenient to you and remove the need to travel to attend a course.
Do I need to download any software to participate
in IPU Academy webinars?
The IPU Academy Autumn Webinar Programme is being delivered via the GoToWebinar platform. You do not need to download any software unless you are using a mobile device when you will be prompted to download the app. However, you must register in advance of the webinar broadcast. Is it a requirement to advance book IPU Academy webinars online?
We will email you when registration is open for each webinar. Please note you must be logged into IPU Academy to register for a webinar. Unfortunately, we cannot take registrations by telephone or fax. You can view the IPU Academy Autumn Webinar Programme schedule on www.ipuacademy.ie . We will make a recorded version of each webinar available on the IPU Academy LMS at www.ipuacademy.ie.
What is my IPU Academy Login?

Who is automatically a member of IPU Academy?
As either a Community Proprietor or Community Employee member of the IPU, you automatically become a member of IPU Academy. This membership benefit entitles you to attend, without charge, live learning events in the IPU Academy programmes and access to www.ipuacademy.ie.
Who is not automatically a member of IPU Academy?
If you are neither a Community Proprietor nor a Community Employee member of the IPU, you can apply to become a member of IPU Academy.
My employer is a member of the IPU. Am I automatically a member of IPU Academy?
No. Your employer’s membership of the IPU does not entitle you to membership of the IPU or, consequently, of IPU Academy.
How do I become a member of IPU Academy?

How much is the membership subscription for IPU Academy?
The annual subscription fee for 2021 is €150.
When does IPU Academy membership expire?
Membership will expire on 31 December 2021. Membership renewal reminders for 2022 will be sent before membership expires.
Is it more cost-effective to become a member of the IPU?
While it is not necessary to become a member of the IPU to join IPU Academy, membership of IPU Academy is one of many benefits to community pharmacists of IPU membership. The annual Community Employee subscription is €250 plus VAT. There are a range of benefits of being a member of the IPU. See www.ipu.ie for further information.
Can I become a member of the IPU if I am not a community pharmacist?
No. Membership of the IPU is only available to registered and dispensing chemists and registered druggists, who are registered as community pharmacists with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
Can I become a member of IPU Academy if I am not a community pharmacist?
Yes. Membership of IPU Academy is available to all registered and dispensing chemists and registered druggists, who are registered as pharmacists with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. Membership of IPU Academy is also available to registered pharmaceutical assistants.
Can registered pharmaceutical assistants attend IPU Academy events?
Yes. Registered pharmaceutical assistants are welcome to join IPU Academy; the subscription fee is €150. This enables you to participate in IPU Academy webinars and receive an IPU Academy certificate.
Can APPEL students attend IPU Academy events?
Yes. They are welcome to attend events if there is spare capacity. Please contact the office to establish availability. Please note that attendance certificates will not be issued.
As an IPU Academy member, will I have to pay to attend any courses?
There will be a charge to attend some courses, e.g. Health Screening Course. However, the majority of courses, including the Spring and Autumn Programmes, are included in your annual IPU Academy membership subscription.
Will I receive a certificate of contact hours for participating in a webinar?
Yes. An IPU Academy certificate will be available to download on www.ipuacademy.ie in the My Learning section to assist you in completing the Document stage of the CPD cycle.
Will I receive a certificate of contact hours for distance and eLearning courses?
Yes. Please note that you must complete the course quiz before downloading your certificate. An IPU Academy certificate will be available to download on www.ipuacademy.ie in the My Learning section to assist you in completing the Document stage of the CPD cycle.
